In January of 2007, Debbie was blessed with the opportunity to play a key role in ABC’s Emmy Winning “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. Oakwood Homes of Woodstock, GA invited Debbie and DMD Design Group to assist in the design as they built the home for the Tipton-Smith family in Lake Arrowhead, GA. Debbie and her DMD partner, Donna Mathis, were thrilled to be a part of a project that would touch the lives of a local family so profoundly. They worked hand in hand with EMHE designer Michael Moloney in selecting the furniture, art and accessories to make this new house the perfect home for the Tipton-Smith family. They didn’t miss a day at Lake Arrowhead for fear that they would miss something remarkable, and were amazed as they watched the whole community come together.

Workers from all over metro Atlanta poured in at all hours of the day and night to make a difference for a family they had never met. Debbie documented the incredible changes the home went through each day. When everything was done and the family said “Move that bus!” Debbie knew that she had just witnessed a miracle in the making. To be a part of something so powerful was something never to be forgotten.
